The Victron Energy Orion-Tr Smart 48/12-20A Isolated DC-DC charger is a Victron isolated DC-DC charger that charges a second (service or auxiliary) battery from your vehicle or boat’s starter battery and alternator.

It uses an adaptive 3-stage charge algorithm (bulk, absorption, float) and safely charges both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Built-in engine-running detection means it only charges while the alternator is running, protecting the starter battery, and it separates the two batteries when the engine is off. The isolated model keeps the input and output on separate grounds, for installations that require electrical isolation.

It converts a 48V input into a regulated 12V output rated at 20A. Built-in Bluetooth lets you monitor and configure it in the free VictronConnect app, and a remote on/off input allows external control; multiple units can be connected in parallel for more output.
